Dear NYS Families,

We hope that you are getting excited for the upcoming spring season!!  In addition to the spring season, we offer our summer softball program.  Girls that are 14 or under on January 1, 2019 and have two years of Farm level experience are eligible to participate.

Our summer teams play in the Twin Valley Softball League.  Each team plays two games per week at 6:00 PM, starting in the 2nd week of June and lasting for six weeks, plus one week of playoffs.

Girls that are 14 or under on January 1, 2019 will play at the U14 level (game nights TBD).  Girls that are 12 or under on January 1, 2019 will play at the U12 level (games usually on Tuesday and Thursday nights).  Girls that are 10 or under on January 1, 2019 will play at the U10 level (games usually on Monday and Wednesday nights).

We will field two teams at each level – an “A” team and a “B” team.  The A-level team is more competitive.  Additionally, the A-level teams will play in 3 or 4 weekend tournaments.  To be eligible for the “A-level” team your child MUST be available for all tournaments.  The tournament dates and other info can be found on the Summer page of our website http://www.nipmucyouthsoftball.com/TVSL1.

As you may remember, we held the summer team tryouts in the fall.  Placement on the A or B team is based on the results of the tryouts.  We are going to hold one more tryout on Sunday, April 14th at 11:00 AM at Memorial Field.  Anyone that wants to be considered for an A-level team must participate in at least one tryout!  Anyone that tried out in the fall may elect to participate in the spring tryout also.

To sign up for the final tryout, please submit your daughter’s information on the following form:

If you have any questions regarding the tryout or the team, please contact Trevor Calvey at trevor@nipmucyouthsoftball.com.

Also, anyone playing summer softball for the first time will need to provide NYS with a copy of her birth certificate.  There is no penalty for doing this early (now).  These should be sent to Trevor.

Thanks!
