The NYS Code of Conduct has been updated. It can be found by clicking here. Among other things, all players must wear masks when batting, base running, and in the dugout. All coaches and spectators must wear masks at all times. Please contact John Di Anni (NYS President) or Scott Hruzd (NYS Safety Officer) with any questions. Thanks!
As part of Phase 2 of the state plan for re-opening from COVID-19, NYS is going to resume practices of our summer teams. We have worked with the state, USA Softball, and the Town of Mendon to create a set of guidelines to operate under as we resume practices. These guidelines, the Nipmuc Youth Softball Covid-19 Code of Conduct, can be seen by clicking here.
Our #1 goal is the safety of our players, coaches, and families. Teams have been set up and coaches are in the process of contact all families. We expect to resume practices on Monday, 6/8. Although we are resuming practices, there is absolutely no obligation for anyone to resume practice now if they do not want to yet. We expect some families will not be comfortable practicing right now, and that is OK. Please be sure to be communicating with your coaches about your concerns and when/if you expect to feel comfortable participating.
The Code of Conduct and your coach's initial e-mail will contain information about the changes we are making to keep everyone safe. Please feel free to contact your coach and/or our Safety Officer, Scott Hruzd (email@example.com) with any questions.
For now, during Phase 2, we will be conducting practices only. We will be able to play games during Phase 3, which can begin on June 29 at the earliest. Since all of our summer tournaments have been cancelled, we are expecting to only play in weekday games as part of the Twin Valley Softball League. Many details are still being worked out. For now, we will be conducting practices under Phase 2.
Thank you very much for your cooperation with our new Code of Conduct. We are looking forward to getting back on the field again!
