Nipmuc Youth Softball Buddy Program
The Nipmuc Youth Softball Buddy Program is a mentoring program that enhances our softball community by providing an opportunity for our older players to make a positive contribution to the lives of our younger players.
During the registration process for the spring season, registrants are asked if they would like to participate in the NYS Buddy Program. The Buddy Program Coordinator will pair older players with younger players. Generally, new matches are made for each player each year. The younger little buddies will be paired with younger big buddies so multi-year friendships are possible.
The annual Buddy Program Kick-Off Social is held at the Miscoe Hill School before the spring season starts. This is where big buddies and little buddies are introduced to each other. Ice-breaking activities are held in the gym and pizza is served in the cafeteria.
After the Social, each buddy pair will independently schedule time together. This can be to attend each other’s games, practice together, or just hang out.
